Kashmir Newz Reflections 2010

JAVED DAR Five days after Wamiq’s killing unidentified men, which later turned out to be Border Security Force personnel, fired upon a group of boys in Brian Nishat killing 16-year-old Zahid Farooq. People protested demanding the identity of the killers and action against them. With the local CRPF party and police denying any role in the killing, it took some time for the Border Security Force to admit the role its men. Locals insisted that the vehicle used by the killers carried an emblem of Hangul used by the BSF.  
Undeclared curfews put in many parts of Srinagar after protests erupted over Wamiq’s killing continued.

People protested demanding the identity of the killers and action against them. With Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) party and police denying any role in the killing, it took some time for the BSF to admit the role of its men. Locals insisted that the vehicle used by the killers carried an emblem of a stag used by the BSF.

Undeclared curfew was put in place across many parts of Srinagar after protests triggered by Wamiq Farooq’s killing continued.
